30 Inch Bar Stools
The Standard -
30 inch bar stools are pretty much the industry standard today, and for good reason. It’s
not by accident that the 30 inch bar stool has become so popular. Online you will able to find bar stools in a
variety of heights – from 24 inch bar stools for children and people who are a little shorter than average to 36
inch bars tools for the taller folks among us. Can’t quite find anything size that really seems "exactly" right
– you may want to consider an adjustable bar stool. But for most people the 30 inch bar stool is the place to
start.
Why start with the 30 inch bar stools – for a couple of very good reasons. The first important reason is that
for the average person, this seat height is the most ergonomically correct- in other words – you’ll be more
comfortable when you’re sitting on it. The combination of a 30 inch height and a rail support beam halfway between
the set and floor is a great combination for sitting comfortably on a bar stool for an extended period of time. The
foot rail allows you to take some of the pressure of off the back of your legs and derriere.
The second reason has to do with counter top height. Part of the answer for being comfortable when sitting on a
bar stool is the barstool itself, but the other part is the height of the counter that you’re sitting at. Most
counter tops in our homes today are built at a height of 40 to 44 inches. To really be comfortable you need enough
room for your legs and you want the counter top to be at a comfortable position relative to your arms when you’re
trying to eat or drink, or maybe just rest your elbows. A 30 inch bar stool, for most people, provides for
both.

they provide for a great deal of flexibility. If you’re entertaining an adjustable bar stool can be set to a
comfortable height for your guests. And if it’s the week-end and your kids want to sit at the counter for a quick
sandwich – no problem.
